HVAC and Building Automation Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for someone who can own HVAC system integration and control.

This role is focused on:

• Understanding existing HVAC systems 

• Identifying the right control approach (gateways, protocols, interfaces)

• Setting up reliable communication between HVAC systems and our platform

You will act as the bridge between real-world HVAC systems and Anvaya's software platform.

What You Will Work On

• Analyze HVAC systems (indoor units, outdoor units, ducted systems)

• Work with HVAC systems using:

P1/P2 bus

Wired controllers

BMS interfaces

• Identify and deploy the right adapters/gateways:

Intesis (Modbus)

BACnet interfaces

DIII interfaces

• Set up and configure:

Modbus / BACnet communication

Device mapping and addressing

• Enable control use-cases:

ON/OFF

Setpoint changes

Scheduling / automation

• Work with backend team to integrate HVAC data and control into the platform

• Test, debug, and ensure reliable operation in real-world conditions

Key Responsibilities

• Understand HVAC architecture at site level

• Identify integration points (P1/P2, gateway interfaces, control panels)

• Install and configure gateways/adapters

• Validate control commands and system response

• Ensure safe and non-intrusive control (no damage to compressors or systems)

• Troubleshoot communication and integration issues

• Document setup and integration architecture

Required Skills

HVAC & Building Systems

• Strong understanding of HVAC systems (ducted, cassette, split systems)

• Experience working with commercial HVAC setups

• Familiarity with Daikin systems (preferred)

Building Automation / Protocols

• Experience with BMS systems

• Knowledge of:

Modbus

BACnet

RS485 communication

• Experience working with gateways/adapters (Intesis, HMS, etc.)

System Integration

• Experience integrating HVAC or building systems with software platforms

• Ability to debug real-world system issues (wiring, communication, configs)

• Understanding of control logic and system behaviour

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT platforms or device integrations

• Basic understanding of embedded systems (helpful but not mandatory)

• Experience in hotels, commercial buildings, or industrial environments
