Position Overview
The HR Manager will serve as the primary people operations partner for the organization, managing the full employee and contractor lifecycle while supporting recruitment efforts across academic and operational functions. This role requires a highly organized, proactive professional who can independently manage HR processes, maintain operational excellence, and contribute to building a strong remote-first culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete employee and contractor lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, performance tracking, and offboarding.
- Source, screen, and coordinate hiring for tutors, trainers, and operational positions through LinkedIn, referrals, job boards, and professional networks.
- Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidate suitability, communication skills, professionalism, and cultural fit.
- Coordinate interviews, demo sessions, evaluations, feedback collection, and offer discussions.
- Prepare and maintain employment documentation, contractor agreements, NDAs, onboarding forms, and other HR records.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of employee data, attendance records, leave trackers, organizational documentation, and HR databases.
- Support payroll preparation by managing attendance, timesheets, contractor invoices, and related records.
- Own onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth and professional employee experience.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, documentation, and operational matters.
- Assist in performance review cycles, probation evaluations, and employee development initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, SOPs, workflows, and people processes.
- Maintain recruitment and HR dashboards, providing regular reports on hiring, retention, employee data, and operational metrics.
- Ensure confidentiality, compliance, and accuracy across all HR-related activities.
- Partner closely with leadership to support workforce planning, organizational growth, and employee engagement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 4–5 years of experience in HR Operations, HR Generalist, Talent Acquisition, or People Operations roles.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end HR processes and employee lifecycle management.
- Experience managing recruitment from sourcing through onboarding.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a remote work environment.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, HRMS platforms, ATS tools, or workflow management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EdTech, online education, language learning, training institutes, BPOs, or service-based organizations.
- Prior experience hiring teachers, trainers, tutors, or subject-matter experts.
- Familiarity with ATS platforms such as Workable, Greenhouse, Lever, Zoho Recruit, or similar tools.
- Experience using Notion, Airtable, ClickUp, or other process management platforms.
- Exposure to freelance or contractor workforce management.
- Working knowledge of French language or familiarity with CEFR, DELF, DALF, TEF, or TCF frameworks is an advantage.
