Job Description

Role Overview

Kapiva is scaling rapidly with a clear path to IPO in the next 2–3 years. We are hiring an HR Lead to own and build a high-quality HR operations and governance engine—simple, automated, compliant, and audit-ready by design.

This is an hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who can independently run HR operations end-to-end, bring structure to complexity, and build processes that scale with the business while leading a team of 1-2 individuals.

What You Will Own

HR Operations :

  • End-to-end employee lifecycle (hire to exit) with clear SLAs and strong process discipline
  • Standardization of HR processes across teams and locations
  • Continuous simplification of workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability

Payroll & Controls :

  • Accurate and timely payroll with strong validation and maker-checker controls
  • Ownership of statutory compliance (PF, ESI, PT, TDS)
  • Close coordination with Finance on reporting, reconciliations, and audits

Compliance & Risk :

  • End-to-end ownership of labor law compliance
  • Build a structured, trackable compliance framework with zero surprises
  • Maintain documentation and readiness for audits and inspections

Audit & IPO Readiness :

  • Ensure all HR processes are well-documented, traceable, and audit-ready
  • Support internal audits, due diligence, and closure of observations
  • Build process discipline aligned with IPO expectations

HR Systems & Automation :

  • Own HRMS and drive adoption across the organization
  • Identify and implement automation across HR workflows
  • Ensure high data accuracy and reporting reliability
  • Deliver a responsive and consistent HR experience across touchpoints

Team Ownership :

  • Manage and develop a lean HR operations team
  • Set clear KRAs and drive accountability
  • Operate with high independence while collaborating cross-functionally

What We're Looking For :

  • 7–10 years of experience in HR with strong exposure to HR operations, payroll, and compliance
  • MBA is mandatory (Tier 2 / Tier 3 institutes)
  • Experience managing HR operations for 500+ employees (1000+ exposure is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and statutory compliance
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS and payroll systems
  • Experience in fast-growing or structured environments preferred

What Sets You Apart

  • Strong ownership mindset; able to run things independently
  • Ability to simplify processes and reduce operational complexity
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and control
  • Comfortable working with Finance, Legal, and auditors
  • Execution-focused with the ability to scale systems and processes

Success in This Role (12–18 Months)

  • HR operations are standardized and running smoothly with minimal dependency
  • Payroll and compliance are accurate, timely, and audit-ready
  • HR systems are well adopted with improved data quality
  • Processes are simpler, faster, and more scalable
  • The function is well-prepared for future audit and IPO requirements
