ShopOS is looking for an HR Generalist who wants to build their career in a fast-growing, AI-native startup. The role involves working across the employee lifecycle - onboarding, HR operations, employee engagement, documentation, people processes, recruitment support, and HR data - while helping build scalable People practices as ShopOS grows. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who is organized, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership. The role also involves using AI and automation to make everyday HR processes faster, smarter, and more scalable.

The role is open for two locations- Bangalore, and Chennai. Please apply only if you open to either.

Key Responsiblities

• Manage employee documentation, records, HRMS, and people data.
• Coordinate onboarding, induction, probation, confirmations, transfers, and exits.
• Support attendance, leave management, payroll inputs, and other recurring HR operations.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR trackers.
• Ensure HR processes and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
• Build and maintain SOPs, checklists, templates, and HR workflows.
• Support employee engagement, culture initiatives, celebrations, and internal events.
• Act as an approachable first point of contact for day-to-day employee queries.
• Collect employee feedback and help identify opportunities to improve the employee experience.
• Support internal communication and People initiatives across teams.
• Support recruitment across Tech and Non-Tech roles when required.
• Assist with sourcing, candidate screening, interview coordination, and candidate communication.
• Ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance to joining and onboarding.
• Help create a strong pre-boarding and Day 1 experience for new hires.
• Use AI and automation to improve HR processes including employee onboarding, documentation, communication, engagement, recruitment, reporting, and operational workflows.

Additional Information

Work Experience

• 1–2 years of hands-on experience across at least two HR functions, such as Talent Acquisition, HR Generalist, HR Operations, or People Operations, is required.
• Experience in startup, SaaS, creative/marketing agency, ecommerce, AI, or product companies is preferred
• Hands-on exposure to employee lifecycle management is preferred
• Exposure to Talent Acquisition or recruitment is required

What the Role looks like

The candidate will help build a modern, AI-native HR function at ShopOS. This includes using AI and automation tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Notion AI, Keka, and other HR/automation platforms to improve employee onboarding and FAQs, HR documentation and communication, employee engagement and surveys, recruitment and candidate communication, HR reporting and data analysis, SOP and policy creation, and repetitive HR operational workflows.
