About RocketPay
We started in 2022 because the collections layer in India was broken. Lenders found out about defaults too late. Distributors waited months to know if a retailer would pay. Businesses had no compliant way to collect what was owed. Everyone was building at the transaction layer — nobody was going deeper into what happened after credit was given.
We decided to build that infrastructure. Today, RocketPay sits between payment initiation and default — preventing losses before they happen, not cleaning them up after. We are not a payment gateway, and we are not a debt recovery platform. We are the pipe through which credit collections and recovery flows.
The Role
You'll own the full employee lifecycle — from hiring to exit — and help shape RocketPay's culture as we scale. This is a high-ownership role ideal for someone early in their HR career who wants to learn fast and build things, not just run playbooks. We're an AI-forward team, so you'll be expected to leverage modern tools to move quickly.
What You'll Do
- Manage end-to-end recruitment: sourcing, screening, interviews, offers
- Run onboarding for new hires and ensure smooth 30-60-90 day experiences
- Administer payroll and benefits via Razorpay Payroll; coordinate with finance on TDS/PF/ESIC compliance
- Maintain employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
- Handle employee queries, grievances, and day-to-day HR operations
- Support performance review cycles and engagement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and statutory requirements
- Manage office operations — vendors, supplies, workspace coordination
- Drive culture-building activities — team events, celebrations, offsites, rituals that make RocketPay a great place to work
What We're Looking For
- 0-2 years of experience in HR (internships count)
- Fast learner with high agency — you figure things out, not wait to be told
- Comfortable using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Notion AI, etc.) to work faster
- Familiarity with Indian labor/payroll compliance basics (PF, ESIC, PT, TDS)
- Hands-on experience or willingness to learn Razorpay Payroll
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Based in Bengaluru, willing to work from office
Nice to Have
- Prior experience at an early-stage startup
- Exposure to HRIS/ATS tools
- Advanced Excel proficiency — compensation trackers, ESOP registers, compliance dashboards using VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and nested formulas
- Familiarity with POSH compliance — Internal Committee setup, complaints portal management, and annual filings
- Experience managing employee benefits — group health/term life insurance, endorsements, renewals, broker coordination
- Experience drafting employee documentation — offer letters, employment agreements, policy documents
- Strong process orientation and audit readiness mindset
