Job Description

Role Summary

Manage the end-to-end HR lifecycle for the blue-collar workforce — hiring, onboarding, attendance, statutory compliance, engagement and retention — across on-roll and contractual staff at the site.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Sourcing

  • Fulfil bulk hiring for operators, helpers, machine attendants, drivers, loaders, housekeeping and security roles
  • Build and manage sourcing channels: local referrals, ITIs, labour contractors, staffing vendors, job melas, field networks and hiring apps such as Apna and WorkIndia
  • Screen candidates, run walk-in drives, coordinate trade tests and roll out offers
  • Maintain a ready pipeline so manpower fill rate stays above target at all times

Onboarding & Documentation

  • Verify Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, address proof, medical fitness and police verification where applicable
  • Complete joining formalities, ID and access cards, PPE issuance and safety induction
  • Maintain accurate employee master data in the HRMS

Attendance, Payroll & Vendor Management

  • Manage biometric attendance systems, shift rosters, overtime and leave records
  • Share monthly payroll inputs and resolve wage and deduction queries
  • Track contractor invoices, headcount reconciliation and vendor SLA performance

Statutory Compliance & IR

  • Ensure compliance with PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, Minimum Wages, Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act, Factories Act and Shops & Establishment Act
  • Maintain statutory registers and muster rolls; support labour inspections and audits
  • Handle disciplinary matters, show-cause notices, domestic enquiries and grievance redressal
  • Liaise with workers committees and unions to maintain healthy industrial relations

Engagement & Retention

  • Drive attrition control initiatives, exit interviews and stay conversations
  • Run welfare activities covering canteen, transport, restrooms, safety drives, festival celebrations and reward programs
  • Act as the first point of contact for worker grievances

Reporting

  • Publish daily and weekly dashboards on manpower, absenteeism, attrition and compliance to management

Requirements

  • Graduate in any discipline; MBA/PGDM in HR or MSW preferred
  • 2–5 years handling a frontline or blue-collar workforce in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, retail or facility management
  • Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory filings
  • Fluency in Hindi and the local regional language along with working English; strong ground-level communication
  • Proficiency in Excel and HRMS or attendance software
  • Willingness to work in shifts and travel to nearby sites

Preferred

  • Experience managing large headcount and multiple contractor vendors
  • Exposure to a unionised environment or multi-site operations
