The opportunity

Environmental and Employee Health & Safety work encompasses activities related to the environment (including the broader community impacted by environmental hazards) and employees including Developing and implementing policies and practices to identify/mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments. Investigating accidents and environmental incidents and liaising with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities to identify causes of accidents and prevent their recurrence. Providing advice and training on safety protocols and conducting audits to ensure compliance with organization and government standards related to environmental and employee heath and safety. Maintaining relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders impacted by the environmental performance of the organization An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex. May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Reporting to the HSE Lead in driving cultural improvements across the factory
  • Taking regular rounds, conducting HSE inspections, and audits across production lines, test lab and maintenance works
  • Identifying and correcting potential hazards through workplace inspections
  • Participating in Gemba meeting, collate received HSE improvement initiatives, and following up with responsible functions to ensure timely resolution
  • Ensuring and monitoring HSE legal requirements on regular basis and updating on online portal
  • Supporting Production team in preparing the risk assessment and operational control procedure and managing environmental aspect and impact assessment
  • Supporting businesses in meeting the HSE KPIs, develop, drive HSE strategic actions and implementation of Machinery Safety Standards
  • Implementing and maintaining the HSE Management System aligned with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Hitachi Energy HSE Operating System
  • Driving Life Saving Rules inspection & its compliance by following with responsible action owner
  • Compiling all NCs, prepare corrective action and follow up for closure of NCRs.
  • Taking HSE initiatives, imparting training and onboard orientation to employees and contractor to share minimum HSE requirement of company
  • Implementing, and testing emergency response plans
  • Leading initiatives for hazardous materials management, including storage, handling, and disposal in compliance with environmental regulations
  • Ensuring MSDS availability of all chemicals used in the plant and to disseminate information to all employees
  • Investigating incidents and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and drive correct and preventive actions
  • Supporting the factory's carbon neutrality program and sustainability objectives
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • B. Tech/Degree/Diploma in Mech/Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineering/Electrical with additional qualification - Advance/Post Diploma in Industrial Safety Management
  • NEBOSH Diploma/IGC or BCSP/CSP certifications are highly desirable and considered a significant advantage
  • 5-7 years of Experience in HSE Domain in Manufacturing, Process Safety & exposure in construction Safety
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential
