Role OverviewAs HR Manager, you will own the end-to-end people function at HULP - from aggressive talent acquisition to policies, payroll, performance management and workplace administration.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building systems from scratch, hiring exceptional talent and acting as a trusted partner to leadership while ensuring smooth day-to-day people operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition & Workforce Planning- Own end-to-end recruitment across functions (tech, operations, customer success, partnerships, corporate roles)
- Proactively source and close high-performing, high-ownership talent in competitive markets
- Partner with founders and hiring managers to define role clarity, hiring bar and compensation benchmarks
- Build and manage recruitment pipelines, agencies and referral programs
Performance Management & Culture- Design and run performance management frameworks (goal setting, reviews, feedback cycles)
- Enable managers with tools and processes for high accountability and performance
- Drive a culture of ownership, clarity and continuous improvement
- Manage promotions, role changes and performance improvement plans when required
HR Policies & Compliance- Design, implement and continuously improve HR policies, handbooks, and SOPs
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory requirements
- Act as the go-to person for employee relations, grievance handling and conflict resolution
Payroll, Compensation & Benefits- Own payroll processing end-to-end, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Manage statutory compliances (PF, ESIC, gratuity, etc.)
- Support compensation structuring, revisions and incentive plans in partnership with leadership
People Operations & Administration- Oversee HR operations including onboarding, offboarding, documentation and HRIS
- Coordinate closely with admin and facilities for office operations, assets and workplace needs
- Maintain accurate employee records and dashboards for leadership reporting
Leadership Support- Act as a trusted partner to founders and managers on people-related decisions
- Provide data-driven insights on hiring, attrition, performance and engagement
- Support org design and scaling initiatives as HULP grows
Who You Are- 58 years of experience in HR, People Operations, or HR Business Partner roles
- Proven experience hiring aggressively for startups or fast-growing companies
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labour laws and payroll processes
- Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity, high-speed environments
- Hands-on executor who is equally comfortable recruiting, resolving issues and building systems
- High integrity, strong judgment and excellent stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have- Prior experience in early-stage or growth-stage startups
- Experience building HR systems from scratch
- Exposure to performance-driven cultures and OKR-based environments
