Job Description

We are seeking an experienced HR Executive to support HR operations within Australian Higher Educationand RTO environments. The role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, attendance and timesheet management, contract administration, people and culture initiatives, and ensuring compliance with TEQSA, ASQA (RTO), Fair Work, and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources & Workforce Planning

  • Support strategic HR planning aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with senior management and academic leaders to meet workforce needs.

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (Academic & Professional)

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for academic and professional staff.
  • Coordinate advertising, shortlisting, interviews, referee checks, and employment documentation.
  • Ensure academic staff appointments meet TEQSA, HESF, and institutional requirements.
  • Conduct onboarding compliance checks, including visa/right-to-work verification, educational qualification checks, and ID verification.

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Coordinate employment contracts, contract renewals, and variations.
  • Monitor and maintain probation period updates, confirmations, and records.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure accurate HR records.

Attendance & Timesheet Management

  • Maintain and monitor daily staff attendance records.
  • Review, validate, and process fortnightly timesheets, particularly for casual academic staff.
  • Follow up discrepancies and ensure accurate records for payroll and compliance purposes.

Performance Management & Training

  • Support performance management and annual review processes.
  • Assist managers with KPIs, performance discussions, and development plans.
  • Coordinate staff training and professional development activities.

People & Culture

  • Act as a key HR contact for employees and managers.
  • Support a positive, inclusive, and high-performance workplace culture.
  • Assist with employee lifecycle processes including onboarding and offboarding.

Regulatory & Compliance (TEQSA & Fair Work)

  • Ensure HR practices comply with TEQSA Act, HESF Standards, ESOS Act, National Code, and Fair Work Act.
  • Monitor and apply Fair Work and Modern Award pay rate changes for academic and professional staff.
  • Ensure attendance, timesheets, and employment records align with Fair Work requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Align position descriptions and contracts with regulatory requirements.

Reporting & Systems

  • Maintain accurate HR records and staff documentation.
  • Prepare HR reports and compliance data for senior management.
  • Support HR systems and data management processes

Knowledge of HR systems and databases

Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills

Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills

Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.

In-depth knowledge of labour law and HR best practices.

Must have excellent communication and Email drafting skills.

Computer skills and enthusiastic to learn new technologies.

Excellent time management skills and accustomed to working within a deadline.

Qualification & Experience:

Diploma/Graduate /Post Graduate.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in HR Dept.

Preferred with good, reputed companies work experience.

Master OF Business Administration (M.B.A)
