Role Purpose
HP UX Server operating system management support to enhance the service quality for their business users.
The server management service management of the customer in-scope server environment.
The service is based on the standard modules described in this document and provides server management and operations support, based on system configurations.
The service will be provided on-site at their DC and DR sites.
The following list of activities should be performed under Server OS management:
- Monitor health status and availability
- Monitor service
- Check log files on critical events
- Fix critical events
- Reports availability of OS
- Analyze performance issues from the OS level
- Performance issues due to other than OS (i.e. Apps/ DB)
- OS Shutdown/Startup/ Reboot
- Disk Space Management (Manual Monitor Report available disk capacity)
- Add, remove, and modify user accounts
- Files permissions and access
- Create and perform OS backup and Restoration for any restoration or resolution requirement
- Root disk mirroring
- Update new OS Patches
- Kernel configuration
- Manage vPars (Create/ Boot/ Modify/ Rest/ Remove)
- CPU, Memory monitoring
- Disk and share management
- Logical and physical disk management from storage in HP UX
- Escalate disk, file, and share incidents as needed in accordance with escalation procedures
- Monitor and manage services for server availability
- Need to update patches regularly. Security-related mandatory patches should be updated as and when required
- Modify permissions and privileges, for users and groups
- Resource should have knowledge of SAN Architecture and perform SAN Zoning
- Resource should have the knowledge to configure /install Data Protector Backup App
- Scheduling a Backup/on-demand backup
- Manage jobs, restart jobs, control jobs
- Media management
- Restoration of data as required following backup policy guidelines
- Provide recommendations for backup policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Ignite backup and DRD clone
- Knowledge of HPE Blade Servers
- Knowledge of Managing 3PAR Storage Devices and SAN Switch Management
- Creation of SAN Zoning
- Administration of Backup Applications like Data Protector
