HP ALM & UFT Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts using UFT (Unified Functional Testing).
• Manage test cases, requirements, test execution, and defect tracking using HP ALM (Application Lifecycle Management).
• Create and maintain reusable test components and libraries.
• Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing.
• Analyze test results and log detailed defects in HP ALM with steps to reproduce.
• Work with development teams to reproduce and resolve defects.
• Participate in test planning, test data creation, and review meetings.
• Maintain test documentation and support test reporting and metrics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and tools.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in test automation using UFT/QTP.
• Strong working knowledge of HP ALM for test management and defect tracking.
• Proficiency in VBScript (used in UFT scripting).
• Experience with testing web and desktop applications.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
• Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall environments.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with other automation tools (e.g., Selenium, LoadRunner).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and integration with automation frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database validation.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certification.
