Role Summary
The Housekeeping team is responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic upkeep of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces in line with the luxury boutique standards of the property. This role contributes directly to guest satisfaction by maintaining immaculate surroundings, ensuring attention to detail, and upholding the property's unique heritage and boutique ambiance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Guest Room Cleaning & Upkeep
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms according to hotel SOPs, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning bathrooms, replenishing amenities, and arranging décor.
- Ensure all in-room items (furniture, fixtures, appliances) are clean, functional, and aesthetically aligned with brand standards.
- Handle guest laundry requests as per hotel policies.
2. Public Area Maintenance
- Clean and maintain public spaces such as lobbies, corridors, banquet pre-function areas, washrooms, and lounge spaces.
- Ensure all decorative items (art pieces, plants, heritage elements) are dust-free and presented attractively.
3. Hygiene & Safety
- Follow health, hygiene, and sanitization standards, especially in guest touchpoint areas.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and as per Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues (broken fixtures, electrical faults) immediately to the engineering team.
4. Guest Service
- Greet guests warmly when encountered and respond to their requests politely.
- Provide extra amenities (towels, pillows, toiletries) promptly upon request.
- Handle guest complaints or special cleaning needs with discretion and efficiency.
5. Inventory & Supplies
- Maintain housekeeping trolleys stocked with necessary linen, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
- Inform supervisors about low stock levels of linen, cleaning agents, or amenities.
- Avoid wastage of cleaning materials and utilities.
6. Coordination
- Coordinate with Front Office for room status updates (occupied, vacant, ready, DND, out of order).
- Work closely with Maintenance for quick repair of reported issues.
- Support Banquet/Events team with setup and post-event cleanup.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 10th/12th pass; diploma/certificate in Housekeeping from a recognized hospitality institute preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in housekeeping in luxury/boutique hotels or equivalent service industry.
- Freshers with strong service attitude and grooming will be considered.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment, chemicals, and housekeeping standards.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management skills to meet cleaning schedules.
- Good communication skills in Hindi/English.
- Physical stamina for long shifts and manual cleaning tasks.
