Hospital Accountant manages the financial operations of a healthcare facility, including patient billing, insurance claims (TPA), accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and statutory compliance. They prepare financial statements, analyze costs (IPD/OPD/pharmacy), and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesBilling & Accounts: Manage patient billing, insurance claim processing, and reimbursement, including TPA and government schemes.Financial Reporting: Prepare daily, monthly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets and profit/loss statements.Accounts Payable/Receivable: Handle vendor payments, procurement, and monitor outstanding payments.Payroll & Compliance: Calculate employee salaries, incentives, and manage taxation (TDS) and statutory compliance.Cost Management: Monitor departmental budgets, analyze medical procedure costs, and assist in setting tariff rates.Auditing: Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with healthcare regulations. Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.Experience: Previous experience in healthcare, hospital, or clinic accounting is strongly preferred.Software Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle) and MS Excel.Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare billing, coding, and medical insurance processes.Competencies: Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
