Job Description Toolroom Engineer (Freshers)

Morphle Labs is a YC-funded deep-tech startup building advanced medical devices for cancer diagnostics. We are hiring ITI, Diploma, and Mechanical Engineering freshers to join our Toolroom team. This role is ideal for candidates who want to build a strong foundation in machining, manufacturing, and precision engineering. As a Toolroom Engineer, you will work hands-on with a wide variety of machines including surface grinders, DRO milling machines, laser-cut machines, wire-cut EDM machines, CNC/VMC machines, and lathe machines. You will be trained by experienced engineers and gain exposure to tooling preparation, machining operations, quality checks, and production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and assist in setting up toolroom machines (surface grinding, milling, CNC/VMC, EDM, lathe, etc.) Perform machining tasks as per drawings and instructions

Conduct basic measurements and quality checks using standard instruments

Maintain tools, fixtures, consumables, and machine logs

Support production teams with machining requirements and fixture preparation

Ensure shop-floor cleanliness, safety compliance, and process discipline

Learn and follow Morphle machining and documentation standards

Requirements

ITI Fitter / Machinist / Turner, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or BE/BTech Mechanical

No prior experience required; strong interest in machining and toolroom operations

Basic understanding of machines and mechanical tools

Ability to read simple engineering drawings (training will be provided)

Strong learning attitude, discipline, and attention to detail

Willingness to work in a hands-on shop-floor environment
