We employ more than 1000+ HSSE specialists across our Workplace Management business. Our primary areas of safety focus are in our Facilities Management and Project & Development Services but also encompass wider WPM product lines. Until now, our HSSE management has been built around local and regional structures. However, with the increasing globalization of our client base, we are now seeking to implement a global HSSE programme to deliver the global consistency and excellence our clients and shareholders demand and our people deserve. This role will be crucial in ensuring the global programme is implemented across the India sites of our WPM Business.
Role Purpose
As a member of the JLL India HSSE team, this individual will support the implementation and management of HSSE initiatives for JLL's India WPM accounts under the guidance of senior HSSE professionals from our Platform. The most important objective of this role will be ensuring that our employees and sub-contractors return home safely at the end of their working day.
To assist in demonstrating on-ground implementation of HSSE management, ensuring that the JLL HSSE and Client Management System and Standards are applied across areas of responsibility. To support the promotion of a positive, proactive safety culture and to help influence stakeholders to ensure alignment and compliance with all client HSSE related policies and practice.
The role provides excellent exposure to HSSE operations in a fast-paced environment focused on ensuring that critical stakeholders, such as employees and clients, receive timely, relevant information and appropriate counsel for HSSE Matters. The successful candidate must demonstrate eagerness to learn HSSE risk identification and contribute to fostering a strong safety culture while supporting world class results, improved productivity and flawless execution.
To support programs for training, audit, measurement and reporting HSSE performance against agreed standards. To assist in implementing practical risk management strategies under supervision.
What This Job Involves
Performance
- Assist in ensuring Client and JLL HSE Procedures are implemented at the Client location
- Support HSE trainings, Mock drills and Tool box talks under direct supervision of senior HSSE professionals
- Help ensure the site and facility operations within the scope of services are in adherence to the applicable HSE regulations
- Assist in timely reporting of incidents and support management of RCA and CAPA processes
- Support HSE audit activities for the site and assist in report preparation
- Help track external/internal HSE audit points closure and support efforts to avoid recurrence
- Assist in ensuring building and services related HSSE risk assessments are in place
- Support account specific incident and accident investigations under guidance
- Assist in implementation of effective account HSSE communication plans

The Candidate

- Strong interpersonal skills to establish relationships with colleagues and demonstrate potential for working with senior management and diverse internal, client and external contacts
- Basic knowledge and understanding of HSSE Management systems with desire to develop expertise in internationally recognized standards
- Results orientated mindset with focus on supporting delivery of objectives and enthusiasm for creative problem-solving
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, with ability to interact respectfully with people at all organizational levels. Other linguistic skills will be added advantage
- Ability to work under supervision while showing initiative in day-to-day tasks
- Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
Essential Criteria:
- Must have BE/ME in Fire & Safety Engineering or related EHS discipline
- Knowledge of safety principles and regulations
- Strong academic record
- Demonstrated interest in HSSE through internships, projects, or coursework
- Willingness to learn and certified in NEBOSH IGC, IOSH (MS/WS), ISO 45001:2018 & ISO 14001:2015 standards
Essential Engagement Period: The initial engagement will be for 12 months from the date of joining. Candidates are encouraged to continue with JLL based on their professional skill development and successful completion of interviews for Senior HSSE Executive roles, subject to business requirements.
