Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking experienced and strategic Health Economic Modeling professionals to join our team. This role requires deep expertise in developing and validating health economic models (cost-effectiveness, cost-utility, budget impact, and disease progression models), and a strong track record of delivering high-quality models to support market access, reimbursement, and payer engagement decisions in global healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will bring 2-3+ years of hands-on modeling experience, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to deliver complex analytical projects with autonomy and precision.

Potential responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Design, develop, and validate health economic models including:
  • Cost-effectiveness models (CEA) and cost-utility models (CUA)
  • Budget impact models (BIM)
  • Disease progression models and Markov cohort models
  • Partitioned survival models and microsimulation/individual patient-level models
  • Translate clinical and real-world evidence into robust model inputs including transition probabilities, utilities, resource use, and costs
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews and indirect treatment comparisons to inform model parameters
  • Perform probabilistic sensitivity analyses (PSA), deterministic sensitivity analyses (DSA), and scenario analyses to assess model uncertainty
  • Prepare and present model-based analyses for HTA submissions (NICE, CADTH, PBAC, and others) and payer advisory boards
  • Contribute to global value dossiers (GVD), AMCP dossiers, and reimbursement submissions
  • Draft technical reports, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations based on modeling findings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with evidence synthesis, RWE, and medical writing teams to build integrated evidence packages
  • Present complex economic modeling findings to internal and external stakeholders, including HTA bodies and payers
  • Contribute to thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, and internal knowledge sharing
  • Ensure rigorous project management across timelines, budgets, and quality standards
  • Contribute to proposals and capability development for health economic modeling services
  • Conduct comprehensive health data analysis across patient charts, claims databases, and electronic hospital records (EHR) to support real-world evidence (RWE) and research and development (R&D) initiatives
  • Develop and apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to generate actionable insights
  • Contribute to retrospective database analyses to support evidence generation for medical affairs, market access, and clinical development
  • Draft and review technical reports, abstracts, manuscripts, protocols, SAP (statistics analysis plan) and presentations based on RWE findings
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to define research questions, study designs, and analytical approaches
  • Present complex analytical findings to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner

Required Skills and Capabilities

  • 2-3+ years of experience in health economic modeling within life sciences, consulting, or a CRO/HEOR agency
  • Proficiency in building and validating cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and disease state models
  • Strong understanding of HTA methodologies and payer requirements across major global markets (UK, EU, Canada, Australia, US)
  • Experience with Excel-based model development (advanced VBA/macros); knowledge of R or Python for health economic modeling is a plus
  • Familiarity with probabilistic sensitivity analysis (PSA) and Monte Carlo simulation techniques
  • Understanding of statistical methods relevant to economic modeling: survival analysis, ITC/NMA, regression-based costing
  • Experience with health utility measurement and preference-based instruments (EQ-5D, SF-6D)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt modeling strategies to evolving client needs
  • Proven ability to work on projects independently and engage key stakeholders effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to scientific and non-scientific audiences
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Word

Organizational Behaviors

  • Requires high level of interactive communication and challenges to conceptual thinking as necessary
  • Ability to influence others at a senior level across the business in order gain commitment to strategy
  • Proven teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Well-developed cultural sensitivity
  • Effectively represents the company externally to key stakeholders
