Roles & Responsibilities:
- Create and execute sustainability strategies and action plans that align with the organization's objectives, incorporating environmental, social, and economic sustainability.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including employees, suppliers, customers, and the community, to build support for sustainability initiatives and gather input.
- Stay informed about industry best practices and benchmarks to drive continuous improvement in sustainability efforts.
- Lead initiatives to reduce the organization's carbon footprint, greenhouse gas emissions, and environmental impact.
- Lead VSAP Audit & improvement of audit scores
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and reporting requirements. Prepare and submit sustainability reports and disclosures as needed.
- Gather data on the organization's environmental and social impact, such as energy consumption, waste production, and emissions. Analyze this data to identify areas for improvement.
- Implement measures to reduce resource consumption, including energy and water efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing.
- Work with suppliers to promote sustainability throughout the supply chain, which may involve responsible sourcing and supplier audits.
- Manage budgets related to sustainability initiatives and projects.
- Educate employees and stakeholders on sustainability practices, encouraging a culture of sustainability within the organization.
- Spearhead digitalization projects to ensure HSES function is automated with minimal human intervention or error.
- Drive R&R programs across operations areas to motivate employees & develop champions in the area.
- Development of a second line to avoid vacuum in leadership.
Desired candidate profile:
- BE/B.Tech. along with Safety /Environment /Sustainability background
- Proven experience in sustainability leadership roles, with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of sustainability best practices, standards, and regulations.
- Strong project management and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and collaborative environment.
- Certification in sustainability (e.g., Certified Sustainability Professional) is a plus.
