Job Description

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for raw materials to meet business requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation in raw material procurement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely availability of raw materials.
  • Manage supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Analyse procurement data to identify areas for improvement and present actionable insights to leadership.
  • Lead and mentor the procurement team to achieve operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head - Raw Material Purchase should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Supply Chain (MBA in Materials Management or Supply Chain preferred).
  • 20-25 years of experience in raw material procurement, preferably in manufacturing or chemical industries.
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials relevant to the business
  • Expertise in supplier negotiation cost benchmarking and global sourcing.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and advanced Excel or procurement tools.
  • Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management skills, Negotiation Skills
