Role Overview
As Head – Quality, you will be responsible for establishing and driving a robust Quality Management System (QMS) across Pune Gas.
The role spans:
- Manufactured products (LPG systems, vaporizers, etc)
- Gas Projects (industrial & commercial installations)
You will ensure quality across the entire lifecycle:
Incoming → In-Process → Final → Project Execution → Customer Feedback
Location
Pune (Head Office) + involvement at upcoming plant in Pargaon Khandala
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the Quality Function
- Set up the Quality department from scratch
- Define Quality policies, SOPs, and documentation systems
- Implement QMS aligned with ISO 9001 and industry best practices
2. Incoming Quality (IQC)
- Establish inspection processes for raw materials and bought-out components
- Define vendor quality standards and acceptance criteria
- Work with Procurement on vendor qualification and evaluation
3. In-Process Quality (IPQC)
- Implement stage-wise inspection systems for WIP
- Define control plans and quality checkpoints
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions
4. Final Quality (FQC)
- Ensure robust final inspection before dispatch
- Maintain product traceability and documentation
- Implement testing and validation protocols
5. Project Quality
- Define quality standards for Gas Projects execution
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning quality
- Ensure proper handover documentation (MTCs, inspection reports, compliance records)
- Conduct site audits and ensure adherence to specifications
6. Quality at New Plant (Pargaon Khandala)
- Lead end-to-end quality setup at the new manufacturing facility
- Establish inspection systems, testing protocols, and calibration processes
7. Compliance & Certifications
- Drive ISO and relevant regulatory certifications
- Ensure compliance with IS standards, PESO norms, and safety requirements
- Interface with auditors and certification bodies
8. Continuous Improvement
- Track and improve key quality metrics (rejections, complaints, failures)
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across products and projects
9. Customer Quality
- Handle customer complaints and field quality issues
- Lead CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions)
- Build feedback loops into product and process improvement
10. Team Building
- Hire and develop the Quality team
- Work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Projects, Procurement, Sales, and Product teams
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 10–15+ years of experience in Quality roles
- Experience in manufacturing + project/site quality (preferred)
- Proven track record of building Quality systems from scratch
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality frameworks
- Hands-on, execution-driven approach
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
