The role aims at gaining a full understanding of the Indian Vertical Transportation* (VT) market; promoting TÜV SÜD's local VT profile; generating sales; Business development building relationships with customers and regulators; building up and leading professional teams in strategical locations in different states of India; and delivering the services in accordance with TÜV SÜD's management guidelines and Quality Management System.
Job Description
Strategy development
- Familiarize with the customer, competitor, authority, and regulation VT landscape in India
- Provide market input for updating and finetuning of the VT strategy for India.
Business Development and sales
- Elaborate a business development strategy to implement the growth strategy provided by the BU LCC and TÜV SÜD South Asia and to meet agreed sales targets
- Promote TÜV SÜD as a leading VT authority in India
- Create and identify sales leads through networking; proactive industry observation and research; and effective sales channels
- Effective customer relationship management; understand customers structure, needs and constraints
- Scale the business through continuous extension of customer base and customer retention
- Preparing sales presentations and sales materials in cooperation with the BU LCC and the marketing department
- Coordinate with TÜV SÜD's global VT experts for joint customer presentations and visits
- Collaboration and coordination with other TÜV SÜD subsidiaries (e.g. Hungary, Middle East)
- Monitor upcoming events such as trade fairs, exhibitions and conferences and prepare and coordinate TÜV SÜD's participation in coordination with the BU LCC and TÜV SÜD South Asia's senior management
Operations and Resources
- Ensure smooth and efficient operations in accordance with TÜV SÜD's QMS and to the full satisfaction of customers
- P&L responsibility for TÜV SÜD's VT activities in India
- Preparing regular progress reports
- Resources planning and management
- Recruitment, development and leading of further VT experts
- Ensure that the VT experts receive the necessary training for their individual roles and authorization levels and in accordance with their personal development plan
- Authorization management (internal) in accordance with TÜV SÜD's QMS.
- Vertical Transportation refers to the services contained in the Business Unit Lift, Cranes and Conveyors (BU LCC). In the context of this job profile, it is used for the domains Lifts and Escalators.

Required Education
- Bachelor Engineering degree (electrical, mechanical)
- Master degree would be beneficial, in particular a business-oriented one (MBA)
