Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Supply Chain to lead our end-to-end supply chain operations, with a strong focus on dark stores and last-mile delivery of perishable goods. This role is critical in ensuring operational excellence, freshness assurance, and customer satisfaction in a high-speed environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Strategy:
- Develop and execute robust supply chain strategies for perishable goods in a quick commerce environment.
- Design and optimize supply chain models specifically tailored to dark store operations and last-mile efficiency.
- Dark Store Operations:
- Oversee planning, setup, and optimization of dark stores across key markets.
- Ensure best-in-class inventory management, picking processes, cold chain infrastructure, and order fulfillment speed.
- Last Mile Delivery:
- Lead last-mile logistics planning and execution, ensuring timely and temperature-controlled deliveries.
- Build partnerships with logistics providers or in-house fleets for seamless delivery operations.
- Demand Forecasting & Inventory Management:
- Implement advanced forecasting techniques for perishables with short shelf life.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to minimize spoilage and ensure product availability.
- Cross-functional Leadership:
- Collaborate with Product, Tech, Category, and Operations teams to enable efficient and scalable supply chain processes.
- Technology Integration:
- Drive automation and digital transformation across supply chain operations.
- Implement tools and systems for real-time visibility, tracking, and performance analytics.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performance team across supply chain verticals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Experience:
- 1520 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with significant exposure to perishables, dark stores, and last mile delivery.
- Prior experience in quick commerce, hyperlocal delivery, e-grocery, or large-scale ecommerce logistics is mandatory.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of cold chain logistics, perishables handling, and urban micro-fulfillment models.
- Strong grasp of Indian geography, market dynamics, and regulatory compliance in supply chain.
- Leadership & Execution:
- Proven track record of leading large supply chain teams and managing operations at scale.
- Hands-on, execution-driven, with an analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Education:
- B.Tech/BE in Engineering or Supply Chain; MBA preferred.
