Job Description

Blueleaf Energy is a dynamic, fast-growing global renewable energy company. We develop, finance, own, and operate solar, wind, and storage assets to drive the energy transition. We seek a highly experienced and disciplined Head Site Security & Administration, to safeguard our assets and operations to ensure the seamless operations of our renewable energy projects across India. This role is pivotal in maintaining site integrity, risk and crisis management, and managing local stakeholder relations, thereby optimizing operational efficiency.

Blueleaf Energy's target project sites are located across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. At present, projects are under development and operation in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, with planned expansion into the other states in the coming years.

We develop and construct projects on private or revenue land through our JV partners, as well as our development and EPC partners. During the development and construction phases, project activities are managed by our project team, which operates from a project office in the nearest town to the site. Once the project is commissioned, Blueleaf Energy's Asset Management team assumes responsibility for operations for the remainder of the project's lifecycle, typically around 25 years.

Location - Bengaluru, Karnataka OR Delhi (National Capital Region)

Role Summary & Strategic Impact

This role will provide expert, hands-on leadership for all security and administrative functions across Blueleaf Energy's development/construction and operational project sites in India. Reporting to the Director of Projects, this role requires security risk management, strategic oversight of security protocols, deep engagement with local authorities, ensuring BLE's code of conduct and the ability to proactively resolve complex site-level issues to ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate is a disciplined and highly organized ex-serviceman with demonstrated success in multi-location command and management.

Key Responsibilities

I. Security Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Strategic Security Oversight: Design, implement, and maintain a robust, multi-layered security framework for all active construction and operating renewable energy (solar/wind) project sites.
  • Physical Security: Lead the day-to-day management of site security operations, including asset protection, access control protocols, patrolling strategies, and real-time site surveillance systems (CCTV, perimeter alarms, etc.).
  • Risk & Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular, detailed Threat and Vulnerability Assessments (TVAs), security audits, and gap analyses to identify and mitigate potential risks (theft, vandalism, encroachment, social unrest).
  • Incident Management: Develop, train, and execute comprehensive Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plans. Serve as the primary point of contact for all site security incidents, ensuring thorough investigation, documentation, and reporting to legal and management teams.

II. Stakeholder Management & Statutory Compliance

  • Local Governance & SPOC: Act as the company's primary SPOC with local administration (Police, District Collectors, Panchayat/Village leadership), local political figures, and regulatory bodies to proactively address and resolve project-related issues.
  • Issue Resolution: Effectively handle and resolve local issues such as land disputes, community concerns, and workforce conflicts, coordinating closely with internal Legal, Land Acquisition, and HR teams.
  • Compliance & Audit Readiness: Ensure all site operations and security personnel adhere strictly to local statutory requirements, company policies, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards. Maintain impeccable documentation for security and administrative audits.

III. Administration & Operational Support

  • Vendor Management: Oversee the sourcing, contract negotiation, and performance management of all administration-related vendors, including security agencies, housekeeping services, facility management, and ground logistics providers.
  • Personnel & Resource Management: Recruit, train, and directly manage the site security team leaders and administrative staff. Conduct regular performance reviews and capacity building.
  • Logistics & Travel: Supervise and coordinate complex travel logistics, vehicle fleet management, accommodation, and site visits for internal teams and external stakeholders visiting the project locations.
  • Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and rigorous monitoring of the security and administration operational expenditure (OpEx) budget.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Specialized training in Security Management or Industrial Safety is a strong asset.
  • Mandatory Preference:Ex-Serviceman (Retired Officer/JCO from the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force, or Central Armed Police Forces/Paramilitary) with an unblemished service record is highly preferred due to the leadership, discipline, and security management skills required.
  • Experience: 10-12 years of total relevant experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a multi-site or regional command/management role.

Skills & Competencies

  • Sector Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of industrial security systems (CCTV, biometric access, alarm systems). Exposure to the renewable energy sector or large-scale infrastructure projects is a distinct advantage.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership, command, and control capabilities, with proven ability to motivate and manage remote, dispersed teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and proficiency in Hindi/relevant regional languages for effective local liaison.
  • Travel:Willingness to travel extensively (up to 50% or more) to project sites across India as required.
