About the Opportunity
Great Kapital is launching a new Payroll Processing division as a full-fledged vertical with its own identity — backed by a strong existing client base across pharma, offline retail, and other sectors.
We are looking for a Sales Leader who has spent years building trust inside India's payroll and workforce ecosystem, arrives with existing relationships, and can help us rapidly scale this new vertical.
As the Head of Sales, you will own the sales function end-to-end — define the GTM strategy, build the pipeline, close the first cohort of anchor clients, and eventually build and lead the sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute the GTM strategy for the payroll business from scratch, leveraging our existing client network as the launchpad.
- Engage directly with CHROs, HR Heads, Finance Leaders, and payroll decision-makers from your network to bring in new business.
- Own the full sales cycle — lead generation, discovery, solutioning, negotiation, and closure — with a goal of landing the first 3 anchor clients within 90 days.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, Product, and Compliance teams to ensure flawless client delivery.
- Build a disciplined sales process — CRM hygiene, pipeline tracking, and regular reporting to leadership.
- Hire, mentor, and lead the next generation of sales and account management talent as the vertical scales.
- Represent Great Kapital Payroll at HR conferences, industry events, and CHRO forums to build brand visibility.
What We're Looking For
- 8–15 years of B2B sales experience in the payroll processing industry, preferably with one of the top 5 companies in India.
- Proven track record of closing multi-year contracts with mid-market and enterprise clients (200+ employee companies).
- A portable book of relationships with CHROs, HR Heads, and Finance Directors that you can activate within 30 days of joining.
- Deep understanding of Indian payroll compliance: PF, ESIC, TDS, PT, Gratuity, and Labour Law nuances.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; prior experience in an early-stage payroll or HR tech venture is a strong plus.
- Graduate / Post-Graduate from a recognized institution.

Bengaluru, with travel as required.
