Role Purpose

The Head PE will be a critical member of the leadership team responsible for driving the future of the plant, the outlook of manufacturing and shaping the culture of how manufacturing will continue to evolve across the assigned business unit.

The incumbent will be accountable for building and sustaining a high-technology culture aligned with the 5x5y vision, help design and deliver cutting edge manufacturing solutions in line with the business growth.

The role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing, quality, process design, tooling/ fixture making, machine design and selection of all critical components, engaging with product design teams and calibrating with needs with quality and manufacturing department with a strong execution mindset for timely readiness of the plant.

Strong desire to implement industry 4.0 solutions creating a digital factory roadmap will be an essential need for the role.

This role will be on a full-time basis with 6 days working.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A. Experience

·       20-25 yrs (10 yrs+ at Leadership Role as a PE head), preferably from Automotive / Manufacturing Industry

·       Proven track record of creating a world class plant with implementation of processes that get high yield and quality excellence.

·       Experience in setting up and leading FFTG team members and being a strong partner with Project management for execution of the projects.

B. Capabilities

·       Strong machine tools technology acumen (including qualitative study of options, deep supplier tech reviews, costing & budget controls)

·       Deep expertise in Lean Manufacturing, TQM, TPM

·       Strong understanding of quality systems (ISO/IATF)

·       Experience with SAP and analytics-driven decision-making

C. Leadership Traits

·       Plant operations need analysis

·       Capacity mapping based on AOP and identifying projects to increase productivity

·       High accountability of projects delivery

·       Strong execution bias with technical details mapping for all sourcing at business level for supporting manufacturing operations

·       Industry 4.0 implementation with Data-driven delivery

Key Responsibilities Areas

1.          Manufacturing Excellence

·       Creation of a road map for future of manufacturing

·       Map yoy needs and forecasting of plant needs viz market and customer expectations

·       Drive achievement of projects for high quality output with latest technology options.

·       Build and be a custodian of complete project sustainability for lowest cost output for sustained financial health of the business with impact on EBITDA 

·       Lead CAPEX planning on all new projects.

·       Champion cost optimization initiatives with upgradation of Tier 2 suppliers along with SQA function

2.   Process Excellence

·       Drive implementation of automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives to improve productivity, reduce manual dependency, and optimize cycle times.

·       Build a strong digital and data-driven operating environment from plant

·       Process design, lean manufacturing driven shop floor planning with proven record of VSM and other tools

·       Ownership of End to end process plan, FFTG/ machine selection, design concepts, budgeting, closure of technical needs with quality and implementation of processes before hand-over

·       Institutionalize robust quality systems in process controls (QMS, SPC, CAPA, Poke-Yoke, COPQ) to enhance product quality and achieve superior FTR performance.
