ABOUT STAHL COOKWARE
Stahl is a premium Indian cookware brand built on the belief that great cooking begins with
great tools. Our ambition is to re-imagine the Indian kitchen not by chasing trends, but by deeply understanding how people cook, what they aspire to, and what would delight them before they even knew to ask for it.
We make products that earn a place in kitchens for a lifetime. This role is central to that promise.
THE ROLE
The Head of Product is one of the most consequential hires Stahl will make. This person owns the product roadmap holding the entire product family in view while having the clarity and conviction to get into the granular details when it matters. They are equally responsible for growing market share in our existing categories and for seeding the next generation of products that consumers don't yet know they need. You will lead both a Product Design team and a Product Management team. Through them, you will define how Stahl's products look, feel, function, and grow from initial insight to manufacturing to shelf.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Own and evolve the product roadmap across Stahl's existing cookware categories, optimising for growth and contribution margin (target: 65%+ per product).
Surface unmet consumer needs problems that competitors haven't imagined and customers are willing to pay a premium to solve.
Define and hold a strong, consistent design language that communicates ultra-premium positioning across the entire Stahl range.
Balance short-term commercial delivery with long-term product vision ensuring this year's contribution does not come at the expense of the brand's future.
Lead and inspire cross-functional teams spanning design, engineering, production, marketing, and sales.
Ensure new product introductions account for a minimum of 20% of revenue (on a rolling 12-month basis).
For new categories, partner closely with the CEO's office to incubate and structure emerging opportunities before formal product ownership transfers.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
We want to be explicit about scope boundaries:
This is not a category research or category strategy role that sits elsewhere.
Tactical SKU introductions should consume no more than 20% of this leader's energy.
The primary focus is long-arc product thinking.
THE PROFILE
We are looking for someone who combines the instincts of a designer, the rigour of a product leader, and the ambition of a founder. Specifically:
Thinking & Judgement
ZIZO ability: you can hold the entire product family in strategic view while simultaneously drilling into microscopic detail where it counts.
Strong analytical rigour accurate, intellectually honest, and structurally sound in how you assess problems and opportunities.
Cultural radar: you read macro consumer shifts, separate long-term structural changes from short-term noise, and let these inform product decisions.
Drive & Initiative
High achievement orientation you genuinely want to solve consumer problems and build products that change how people experience their kitchens.
Strong ownership mindset. You don't wait to be told; you identify what needs solving and move.
Willingness to challenge constraints when told this is the maximum we can do, you push back, test the boundary, and inspire the team to do the same.
Influence & Communication
Articulate and persuasive you can communicate the product vision and its rationale to internal stakeholders (manufacturing, marketing, sales) and external ones (agencies, retailers, trade).
Executive presence without artifice you make an impression through clarity of thought and conviction, not just charisma.
Flexible in style: you navigate different audiences from factory floor to board room with equal effectiveness.
Domain Knowledge, Craft & Sensibility
Strong understanding for design, materials, and engineering you can hold a technical conversation and an aesthetic one in the same breath.
Deep consumer empathy you think from the inside of the consumer's life, not from the inside of a category spreadsheet.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN 24 MONTHS
Contribution margin per product improved to 65%+
Every viable product opportunity in existing categories identified and addressed
Minimum 20% of revenue from products introduced in the last 12 months
The entire Stahl cookware range unified under a single, coherent design language
A product team and design team that is energised, high-performing, and operating with clear direction
WHAT WE OFFER
Opportunity to be part of a brand that transforms kitchens into spaces of joy, not just utility. Here, you will find the environment and trust to push boundaries and create work you can truly be proud of, work that becomes a meaningful part of people's lives.
Simple, low-hierarchy culture with open and honest collaboration across levels, where ownership comes with responsibility and grows with you.
We ensure a way of working that respects life beyond work.
Along with competitive compensation, and other benefits (like exclusive staff discounts on our products, as applicable).
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
We are open to profiles from diverse paths. Strong candidates will likely come from one of the following:
A product head role at a consumer goods or cookware company with revenues up to 800 crore ($100M), or a senior product leadership position at a significantly larger firm.
A founder who has led a product-driven business for several years and is now seeking the scale and resources of an established, growth-stage company.
A product or design leadership role at a premium European brand someone who brings global design sensibility with the hunger to build in India.
In all cases, we will look for:
A product project seen from inception to market concept, design, engineering, launch.
The ability to articulate a specific consumer problem clearly and compellingly.
At least 10 years in product leadership roles.
At least 3 years working on premium or super-premium products.
Educational background in Industrial Design, Engineering, Product Design, or a relevant combination of these disciplines would be great.
If this resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you.
We are an equal opportunity employer that values diverse perspectives and the strength they
bring to our teams. We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and do not
discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, ancestry, national origin, caste, gender,
gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy,
genetic information, marital status, or any other protected characteristic.
