Job Title: Head of Operations / Business Head (IT Services)

Role Summary:
We are looking for a senior, hands-on leader to run and grow our IT services business. This is a high-ownership role suited for someone who has already worked in a small or mid-sized IT services firm and understands how to balance delivery, people, and growth.
You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, leading teams, ensuring client delivery, and driving business and revenue growth. You will work closely with the founders and provide regular, structured updates on performance and progress.
We need someone who can build, execute, and scale by helping set the right strategy and execute effectively.
What You'll Own
Running the Business
- Take full ownership of daily operations across development, delivery, and support
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high quality
- Set up and improve processes for delivery, reporting, and team productivity
- Manage budgets, costs, and resource planning
Leading the Team
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams (developers, QA, PMs, support)
- Hire, mentor, and retain strong technical talent
- Set clear goals, performance expectations, and accountability
- Build a practical, execution-focused work culture
Growing Revenue & Clients
- Drive business growth through new clients and expansion of existing accounts
- Support sales activities: proposals, pricing, estimations, and client discussions
- Identify new service offerings and market opportunities
- Work towards defined revenue and growth targets
Client & Delivery Ownership
- Act as a senior escalation point for key clients
- Ensure client satisfaction and long-term relationships
- Handle delivery risks and resolve issues proactively
Founder & Director Reporting
- Provide regular, concise updates to founders/directors on:
- Delivery status
- Financial performance
- Team health
- Risks and opportunities
- Ensure transparency and alignment with company direction
Who We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in IT services / software development
- Prior experience in a leadership role within a small or mid-sized IT company
- Strong understanding of end-to-end software delivery and services business
- Proven experience managing teams and client-facing engagements
- Exposure to business development, revenue targets, or P&L responsibility
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, startup-style environment
Ideal Background
- Engineering or technical background (preferred)
- Experience working with international clients (UK, US, Middle East, etc.)
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum / modern delivery practices
- Has previously helped scale a team or services business
