Job Description

Job Overview:

The Head of Operations leads all manufacturing, Industrial engineering, maintenance, supply chain and EHS functions at the company in India. The role ensures operational excellence, people development, and alignment with company's Group standards.

Location: Bangalore

Key Responsibilities:

CENTRAL (Core Responsibilities) PERIPHERAL

(Responsibilities which are support/Cross functional activities)

Lead all plant operations including Production, Industrial Engineering, Maintenance and Supply Chain.

Drive productivity, cost optimization and quality improvements in line with company group standards.

Strengthen team capability through coaching, performance management and structured development.

Implement systems, KPIs and controls to ensure high operational discipline and compliance.

Ensure strong vendor management and procurement effectiveness.

Oversee production planning based on sales forecasts and ensure ontime delivery.

Ensure full compliance with Environment, Health & Safety requirements.

Manage asset care, maintenance planning and equipment reliability.

Drive continuous improvement projects and maintain audit readiness.

Ensure robust implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS).

Oversee Industrial Engineering projects and future capacity planning.

Coordinate with HR on workforce matters, labour concerns, and collective bargaining as required.

Work closely with Marketing, Service & Retrofit, and Spares functions to ensure on-time deliveries.

Collaborate with Quality Management on materials and process quality improvements.

Liaise with external suppliers, freight partners, and vendors for timely dispatch.

Engage with R&D and Marketing teams to understand product issues and support product improvements.

Maintain healthy employee relations and ensure a harmonious work environment.

Support training initiatives, performance evaluations, and career development of team members.

Act as an internal auditor for ISO/IEC 8007934:2011.

Job Competencies:

Educational qualification (Knowledge and Skill) desired:

B.E Mechanical

Six Sigma will be an added advantage

Work Experience:

15-20 years of experience in engineering/manufacturing operations, preferably in process-driven industries (automotive, electronics, etc.).

Strong knowledge of machining, assembly, special processes (heat treatment), materials

(metallic & non-metallic), casting, and metrology.

Good understanding of engineering drawings, safety management, and energy management.
