Job Description

Job Title: Head of Legal / Legal Manager

Role Objective:

To provide comprehensive legal support to the organization, focusing on non-litigation matters, legal drafting, and company law, ensuring regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and effective advisory for management decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Drafting & Documentation

  • Draft, review, and finalize commercial agreements, MOUs, contracts, and internal policy documents.
  • Prepare notices, letters, and other legal communications for internal and external purposes.
  • Ensure all legal documents are aligned with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Provide guidance on drafting for corporate and commercial purposes to protect organizational interests.

2. Company Law & Compliance Advisory

  • Provide legal advice on corporate and company law matters applicable to Private Limited Companies and LLPs.
  • Support management in compliance with statutory obligations under Companies Act, 2013, LLP Act, and other relevant regulations.
  • Assist in corporate structuring, due diligence, and regulatory filings as required.

3. Non-Litigation Advisory & Risk Management

  • Advise management and business teams on legal and regulatory implications of commercial decisions.
  • Identify legal risks in contracts and operations, and provide practical mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and update management proactively.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Liaison

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws including corporate, commercial, labor, and real estate regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulators, external counsel, and statutory authorities on legal matters.
  • Support internal audits and investigations as required.

5. Cross-Functional Support

  • Collaborate with finance, HR, operations, and business teams to ensure legal safeguards are in place.
  • Conduct legal due diligence for new business initiatives, partnerships, or acquisitions.

Candidate Profile:

  • LLB or equivalent law degree with 5+ years of post-qualification experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience in non-litigation legal work, legal drafting, and company law advisory, land acquisition.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple stakeholders across teams.
  • Exposure to startup, real estate, or proptech sector preferred.
  • Real estate work experience mandatory.
