Role Overview
We are looking for a Head of Irrigation to design, implement, and manage integrated irrigation and water management systems across all Sanctity Ferme projects.
This role will be responsible for ensuring efficient water utilization, reliable irrigation infrastructure, sustainable agricultural productivity, and well-maintained landscapes across our farm communities.
Key Responsibilities
1.Irrigation Strategy & Planning
- Develop irrigation master plans for projects based on topography, soil conditions, crops, and water availability
- Design drip, sprinkler, and micro-irrigation systems
- Establish water zoning and pressure management systems
- Integrate irrigation with agricultural and landscape infrastructure
2.Water Resource Management
- Plan and manage water sources including borewells, reservoirs, ponds, rainwater harvesting systems, and storage tanks
- Design water recycling and reuse systems where feasible
- Monitor groundwater usage and support long-term water sustainability strategies
3.Infrastructure Design & Execution
- Oversee installation of irrigation infrastructure including pipelines, pumps, filtration units, fertigation systems, and distribution networks
- Define standards for pipe materials, valves, pumps, filtration, and automation systems
4.Operations & Maintenance
- Establish preventive maintenance protocols for irrigation systems and pump infrastructure
- Monitor system performance including water pressure, flow rates, leak detection, and energy consumption
- Ensure reliable operation of irrigation systems across projects
5.Technology & Automation
- Implement smart irrigation systems using sensors, controllers, timers, and weather-based irrigation tools
- Develop monitoring systems to track water consumption and irrigation schedules
- Introduce technologies that improve water efficiency and system performance
6.Team & Vendor Management
- Build and lead the irrigation team including engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff
- Train field teams on installation standards and maintenance practices
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for system installation and upgrades
Qualifications
- Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Water Resource Management
- Additional experience or certification in micro-irrigation systems is preferred
Experience
- 812+ years of experience in irrigation system design and management
- Experience with drip irrigation, sprinkler systems, pump systems, and water resource planning
- Experience working on large farms, estates, agricultural infrastructure, or township projects preferred
