Head of Foreign Languages
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Foreign Languages who is passionate about language education. The ideal candidate will be an IBDP Spanish teacher with a strong vision for advancing our language programs. This individual will lead the department, ensure high-quality instruction, and cultivate a supportive learning environment for both students and faculty.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Foreign Languages department, focusing on curriculum development and implementation
- Teach IB DP Spanish , including reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents.
- Provide support and mentorship to language teachers to enhance teaching practices and promote effective language instruction.
- Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum for all languages, aligning with IBDP and Cambridge standards.
- Evaluate student progress through assessments, providing targeted feedback and support for improvement.
- Organise events that celebrate and promote Foreign language and culture within the school community.
- Work with other departments to integrate language learning across the curriculum and foster interdisciplinary projects.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Foreign Languages, Education, or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching IBDP Spanish, with a minimum of 5 years in language instruction.
- Leadership experience in an educational setting, with the ability to foster a collaborative team environment.
- Strong understanding of IBDP curriculum and assessment methods,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire students and staff.
