Job Description:

The Head of FI Sales India will lead a growing Financial Institutions franchise spanning banks, insurers, asset managers, and nonbank financial institutions across the Indian market during a period of significant innovation and transformation. The role oversees a team of Treasury Sales Officers and Treasury Sales Associates split across Mumbai and Bangalore, providing leadership, coaching, and clear strategic direction to deliver responsible growth across the franchise.

Clients in this sector are rapidly evolving-adopting new technologies, advancing digital payment capabilities, and navigating an evershifting regulatory environment. The team must deliver thought leadership, rigorous strategic advice, and tailored solutions to support clients through these developments while elevating the firm's brand and market presence in India.

The Head of FI Sales India is accountable for coordinating and directing treasury management sales activities, including the origination of new business, the deepening of existing relationships, and disciplined execution of the franchise strategy. The role maintains senior client engagement within the region, including clients headquartered in India and global clients with a material presence in the country. The position reports to the Head of APAC FI Sales based in Singapore.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Lead and inspire a highperforming sales team across Mumbai and Bangalore, fostering a motivated, engaged, and growthoriented culture.
  • Develop and execute the FI India sales strategy to maximize growth within risk parameters and optimize relationship profitability.
  • Provide strategic direction, market insights, and thought leadership to the team and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with Product, Region Heads, Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Bankers, and Risk teams globally to deliver integrated treasury and payments solutions.
  • Oversee resource and performance management, including hiring, goalsetting, performance assessments, compensation input, and broader HR responsibilities.
  • Influence through effective leadership, including articulating a clear strategy, coaching team members, rolemodeling collaboration, and reinforcing a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Ensure the team remains fluent in the full Treasury Product Solutions suite and is prepared to engage clients on emerging topics such as realtime payments, digital innovations, and evolving regulatory developments.

Required Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience serving and selling sophisticated treasury and payment solutions to FIs, insurers, asset managers, and other NBFI clients, with a strong track record of origination and relationship development.
  • Strong business, commercial, and structuring skills with proven experience delivering growth in complex client segments.
  • Strong executive presence, both internally and externally.
  • Deep knowledge of USD clearing, banknotes markets, FX payments and other products of relevance to clients in the sector.
  • Proficient and able to articulate evolving regulatory frameworks, developments at SWIFT and the broader payments ecosystem.
  • Ability to translate market dynamics into actionable client strategies.
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of trade finance solutions for bank clients.
  • Extensive network within the Global Capability Center ecosystem and ability to cultivate relationships at senior levels within these client organizations.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
