Head of Engineering (India)

We are partnering with a fintech SaaS startup to hire a hands-on Head of Engineering (India). This is a playercoach role for a senior engineering leader who enjoys coding, building platforms, and scaling teams from the ground up.
You will work closely with the CEO/Founding team and collaborate with product and customer stakeholders based in the US.
Role Highlights
- Code hands-on on a daily basis while leading the engineering function
- Own architecture, delivery, reliability, and security of an enterprise SaaS platform
- Build scalable, multi-tenant systems, integrations, and workflow engines
- Lead and grow a high-performing India-based engineering team
- Drive strong engineering practices: CI/CD, on-call, releases, and quality standards
What We're Looking For
- 1015+ years of engineering experience with 36+ years in leadership roles
- Strong background in SaaS / product-led companies
- Deep backend engineering expertise (distributed systems, APIs, async/event-driven architectures)
- Experience building secure, enterprise-grade platforms and external integrations
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment and building from scratch
Nice to Have
- Fintech / financial services exposure
- AI-enabled workflows, document intelligence, or data-heavy platforms
- Security & compliance experience (SOC2 / ISO readiness)
