We are looking for a highly capableHead of Engineeringto lead and scale our 40-member engineering organization. This role requiresstrong hands-on Frontend expertise (ReactJS), solid Backend understanding (Java), and a proven ability to manage large, high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Build-Out
- Define the technical strategy, architecture, and long-term roadmap aligned with business expansion goals.
- Build and scale a globally distributed engineering team of up to 40 engineers (FE + BE).
- Establish a high-performance, remote-first engineering culture and operational best practices.
2. Technical Execution & Oversight
- Stay deeply hands-on: architect systems, write key components, and conduct detailed code reviews (ReactJS + Java).
- Make critical architectural decisions to ensure scalability, security, and performance for high-traffic applications.
- Own the full SDLCensuring timely, high-quality delivery across all product lines.
3. Team Management & Development
- Mentor engineering managers and senior ICs; oversee performance and career development.
- Optimize team structure, resource allocation, and engineering workflows.
- Manage department budgets, external vendors, and tooling investments.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ yearsin software engineering with5+ yearsin senior leadership roles (Head of Engineering, Director, etc.).
- Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams of40 members or more.
- Expert-level, hands-on proficiency in ReactJSand deep expertise inJava (Spring/Spring Boot).
- Demonstrated success building distributed engineering teams from scratch.
- Track record of full ownership of complex, customer-facing software products.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into technical execution.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience iniGaming, FinTech, Sports Betting, or other high-traffic/high-concurrency platforms.
- Background designing scalable, low-latency systems.
- Ability to bring an existing engineering pod (515 engineers) to integrate into the new division.
- Understanding of key growth territories such asLatAm, Europe, Africa.
