Primary title: Head of Engineering
As the Head of Engineering at Career Bloc you will set the technical vision and lead engineering execution across product, platform, and infra teams to deliver real-time audio features at scale.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for low-latency audio and streaming systems, aligning engineering priorities with product and business goals.
- Architect and operationalise scalable, cloud-native microservices for audio ingestion, processing, and delivery to millions of concurrent users.
- Lead, recruit and mentor engineering managers and senior engineers; build high-performing squads and a culture of ownership and shipping.
- Establish reliability, observability and SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs, incident response, capacity planning) to ensure real-time audio SLAs.
- Own technical partnerships, vendor selection, and cost optimisation for cloud, CDN, and streaming services.
- Drive engineering excellence: code quality, CI/CD automation, security, performance profiling and cross-team collaboration.
