Role Overview:
The Design Head will lead the creative vision and execution of all architectural projects, ensuring design excellence, innovation, and alignment with client and business objectives. This role demands a balance of design leadership, business acumen, and team management, along with the ability to represent the firm in competitions, publications, and industry forums.
Key Responsibilities / KRAs:
1. Business & Revenue Contribution
- Ensure advances are received and milestone payments are tracked in coordination with the business team.
- Secure and close projects under the Gold/Silver/Bronze categorization system, based on value and strategic importance.
- Contribute to business growth by identifying showcase-worthy design opportunities.
2. Design Excellence & Project Delivery
- Lead conceptualization, design development, and execution of all architectural projects.
- Add showcase-able projects to the firm's portfolio through innovative and sustainable design practices.
- Ensure strict adherence to budget vs. actual time spent on each project.
- Monitor and control budget vs. actual incidental costs without compromising design quality.
3. Competitions & Recognition
- Drive the firm's participation in national and international competitions.
- Lead efforts to achieve shortlisting and winning entries, strengthening the firm's visibility and credibility.
- Encourage the design team to contribute to award-winning projects.
4. Publications & Brand Visibility
- Provide support for publications in industry journals, HRS, and media platforms.
- Build and promote the firm's brand by positioning projects for coverage in reputed magazines and digital platforms.
5. Innovation & Work Culture
- Initiate and implement new design practices, tools, and technologies in the workplace.
- Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor and guide the team towards continuous learning and professional growth.
6. Industry Engagement & Networking
- Represent the firm at architecture meets, seminars, and conferences.
- Ensure one or more team members actively engage with professional forums and industry events.
- Build and maintain relationships with peers, consultants, and clients.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch / M.Arch).
- Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA).
- 15+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership/design head role.
- Proven track record of handling large-scale, complex, and award-winning projects.
