Role Summary

The Head of Physio is the day-to-day owner of clinical quality, team performance, and patient experience for the Bengaluru location. You will lead assessments and complex cases, standardize protocols, mentor therapists, drive outcomes, and ensure smooth operationswhile partnering closely with Dr. Geetanjali Patil to strengthen ErgoTouch's clinical brand and growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll treat patients, lead the floor, coach the team, and manage clinic rhythm (scheduling, case reviews, documentation, service quality).

Key Responsibilities

1) Clinical Leadership & Patient Outcomes

  • Own clinical standards for MSK/Ortho/Sports/Spine caseloads: assessment quality, clinical reasoning, diagnosis screening, and progression planning.
  • Manage complex / chronic / post-op / sports injury cases and escalations; ensure safe, evidence-based care.
  • Ensure effective use of ErgoTouch's core modalities and advanced offerings (as appropriate to competency/licensure):
  • Manual Therapy, Exercise Therapy, Electrotherapy, Shockwave, Matrix Rhythm Therapy, Dry Needling, Cupping, DNS.
  • Build outcome-driven pathways for common conditions (e.g., low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, tendinopathies, runners knee), including discharge criteria and relapse-prevention plans.
  • Drive patient education and adherence: home programs, posture/ergonomics, load management, return-to-sport/work planning.

2) Team Management, Mentoring & Capability Building

  • Lead and coach physiotherapists and interns: observation, feedback, clinical upskilling, case discussions, and performance reviews.
  • Run weekly case conferences and ensure consistent documentation and reassessment cadence.
  • Create a competency matrix for therapists across key services (manual therapy, sports rehab, spine pathways, advanced techniques).
  • Support recruitment and onboarding (clinical interviews, skill checks, probation goals).

3) Clinic Operations & Service Excellence

  • Own daily clinic operations: therapist rosters, session scheduling, room/equipment readiness, and patient flow.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, compliant, and audit-ready (SOAP notes, consent, contraindications, incident reporting).
  • Maintain clinic readiness and hygiene protocols; ensure smooth coordination with front desk for bookings/follow-ups.
  • Oversee equipment usage and upkeep (especially advanced modality devices), vendor coordination, and basic inventory.

4) Growth, Revenue Quality & Brand Building (ethical, patient-first)

  • Improve conversion from assessment to plan-of-care (without over-prescribing): clear goals, timelines, and value communication.
  • Lead retention initiatives: structured follow-ups, progress reporting, patient engagement routines.
  • Partner with the Founder to expand ergonomics / workplace assessment programs and community education initiatives.
  • Contribute to marketing through clinically accurate content ideas, workshop support, and community outreachaligned with ErgoTouch's clinical standards.

5) Stakeholder & Founder Alignment

  • Act as the Founder's operational extension at the clinic: highlight trends, staffing needs, patient feedback, and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with referring doctors/centers when needed; ensure high-quality handovers and updates (where consented).

Success Metrics (example KPIs for fixed + incentives)

Clinical & Patient Outcomes

  • Patient-reported outcome improvements (condition-specific scales where applicable)
  • Reduction in drop-offs; adherence to reassessment cadence
  • Patient satisfaction / reviews / referral rate trends

Operations

  • Therapist utilization and schedule efficiency
  • Documentation compliance and audit scores
  • Repeat visit planning and discharge completion rates

Growth (ethical)

  • Assessment-to-plan conversion rate
  • Retention over recommended plan duration
  • Corporate/ergonomics program leads and repeat engagements

Required Qualifications

  • BPT (required); MPT (preferred) (Ortho / Sports / MSK preferred).
  • 8+ years clinical experience with strong MSK focus (Ortho/Sports/Spine).
  • Demonstrated competence in:
  • Advanced assessment & differential screening (red flags, referral triggers)
  • Manual therapy + therapeutic exercise prescription
  • Sports injury rehab and return-to-activity programming
  • Strong leadership behaviors: coaching, accountability, calm decision-making.
  • High-quality communication: patient education, expectation-setting, empathetic handling of chronic pain cases.

Preferred / Strong Advantage

  • Certification or strong working experience in one or more: Dry Needling, DNS, Matrix Rhythm Therapy, Shockwave, kinesiotaping.
  • Experience with ergonomic assessments / workplace MSD prevention programs.
  • Experience leading a multi-therapist clinic floor (rosters, productivity, quality audits).

Role Fit (what excellent looks like at ErgoTouch)

  • You can run the clinic day-to-day with minimal Founder dependency, while still collaborating tightly on standards and growth.
  • You balance hands-on clinical excellence with team upliftment.
  • You build a culture where therapists think (clinical reasoning) rather than only apply modalities.
  • You protect patient trust: evidence-led plans, transparent communication, outcome tracking.

Working Structure

  • Full-time, on-site. Clinic runs MonSat with extended hours; exact roster to be finalized to ensure leadership coverage during peak slots.
