Job Purpose: The Business Development (BD) Specialist will lead and support MTCS's business development activities in coal, iron ore, and mineral exploration services. This role is pivotal in identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships across the mining and mineral industry, and ensuring the effective execution of consultancy assignments for clients dealing in mining sectors.

Key Responsibilities

A. Business Acquisition & Growth

  • Identify and secure new consulting mandates across exploration, resource modelling, mine planning, geological studies, environmental consulting, and technical due diligence.
  • Develop business pipelines in India and international mining regions.
  • Respond to RFPs, prepare proposals, and coordinate with technical teams for solution design.
  • Meet quarterly and annual revenue targets.

B. Client Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with mining companies, PSUs, state mineral corporations, global exploration firms, EPC players, and investors.
  • Maintain CRM updates, track client touchpoints, and ensure long-term engagement.
  • Represent the company at mining events, conferences, and industry forums.

C. Market Intelligence

  • Monitor opportunities in coal, iron ore, base metals, critical minerals, and rare earth elements.
  • Track tender announcements, policy changes, new exploration blocks, and government initiatives.
  • Identify emerging opportunities such as digital mining solutions, ESG consulting, and mine automation.

D. Proposal & Commercial Management

  • Work with technical teams to develop high-quality proposals and presentations.
  • Prepare commercial quotes, pricing models, and engagement contracts.
  • Support negotiations and ensure profitable deal closures.

E. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with geology, mining engineering, environmental, GIS/modelling, and finance teams.
  • Ensure smooth project handover from pre-sales to execution.
  • Provide client feedback to enhance service offerings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: B.E / B.Tech (Mining) or M.Sc. (Geology) from a reputed institute, plus MBA
  • Experience: 15+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Proven expertise in bidding and bid submissions for coal mining, MDO, and commercial coal mining project
  • Strong background in preparing and reviewing financial models for mining project
