Core Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the organization's global marketing and strategic communications strategy, with a strong focus on community building, public relations, and high-impact events aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
- Drive brand positioning and visibility by building and nurturing strategic communities of practice, including clients, partners, sector experts, and alumni, to strengthen engagement and long-term relationships in the social impact ecosystem.
- Design and implement a comprehensive public relations strategy, including media outreach, press engagement, thought leadership placements, and reputation management to enhance organizational credibility and influence.
- Conceptualize, plan, and oversee the execution of flagship events, convenings, webinars, and conferences to position Athena Infonomics as a thought leader and convener in key thematic areas.
- Oversee the development of high-quality, audience-centric content (reports, insights, event materials, multimedia, and digital assets) to support community engagement, PR campaigns, and event visibility.
- Lead digital engagement strategies to grow and activate online communities through social media, newsletters, and other platforms, ensuring consistent and compelling storytelling.
- Collaborate closely with business development teams to leverage events, networks, and media visibility for pipeline development, client engagement, and partnership building.
- Strengthen internal communications to foster a cohesive organizational narrative and enable staff to effectively represent the organization in external forums and engagements.
- Build/Lead, and mentor a high-performing marketing and communications team, including supervision of staff and external vendors/agencies supporting PR, events, and community initiatives.
- Establish and track KPIs for community engagement, media reach, and event impact, using insights to refine strategies and enhance effectiveness.
- Identify and leverage emerging trends, including digital platforms and artificial intelligence, to scale community engagement, personalize outreach, and improve campaign performance.
- Manage budgets, partnerships, and vendor relationships for PR, events, and community-building initiatives to ensure high-quality and cost-effective delivery.
Qualifications And Competencies
- Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing and strategic communications, with significant experience in public relations, community building, and event management.
- Prior experience in a consulting firm will be strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of building and engaging professional communities, networks, or platforms, particularly within consulting, development, or social impact sectors.
- Strong experience in media relations, including developing PR strategies, securing coverage, and managing press interactions.
- Demonstrated experience conceptualizing and delivering high-impact events, conferences, and convenings (virtual and in-person).
- Excellent storytelling and content development skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
- Strong digital engagement experience, including social media strategy, community management, and audience growth.
- Experience working closely with business development and practice teams to translate engagement and visibility into partnerships and opportunities.
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and external partners, including PR agencies and event vendors.
- Strong strategic thinking and execution capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight timelines.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and artificial intelligence to enhance outreach, audience engagement, and campaign effectiveness.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders, partners, media, and community members effectively.
- Ability to work across geographies and cultures (across different timezones), with sensitivity to diverse contexts and communication styles.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and judgment in managing external communications and relationships.
- Entrepreneurial and proactive mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities to build networks, partnerships, and platforms for influence.

- Willingness to travel, as required.
