Role Overview:
Head of IT Procurement is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation processes for all IT-related goods and services. The role ensures cost efficiency, regulatory compliance, timely availability of technology resources, and alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Strategy & Governance
- Develop and execute the IT procurement strategy aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Establish procurement governance, policies, and processes in line with internal audit and regulatory requirements (RBI, ISO, etc.).
- Drive adoption of e-procurement tools and automation for transparency and efficiency.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for hardware, software, SaaS, cloud, AMC, and professional services.
- Manage vendor lifecycleempanelment, performance evaluation, renewal, and exit management.
- Ensure vendor compliance with information security, data privacy, and regulatory norms.
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams for vendor due diligence and risk assessment.
3. Contracting & Commercials
- Lead commercial negotiations to ensure value optimization, cost reduction, and favourable terms.
- Oversee preparation and review of contracts, MSAs, NDAs, SLAs, and license agreements.
- Monitor contract renewals, expirations, and license compliances.
4. Financial & Budget Management
- Plan and manage annual IT procurement budget in coordination with IT Governance and PMO.
- Track IT spends, cost savings, and TCO (Total Cost of Ownership).
- Support CAPEX and OPEX reporting and board-level presentations.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with IT, InfoSec, Legal, Finance, and Business Units for procurement needs.
- Support project teams in timely provisioning of IT assets and services.
- Communicate effectively with senior management on procurement performance and risks.
6. Process Improvement & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies, and audit requirements.
- Drive process efficiency, standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with RBI outsourcing guidelines and data localization norms.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of IT procurement (hardware, software, cloud, SaaS, AMC, managed services).
- Expertise in contract negotiation and vendor management.
- Familiarity with RBI and NBFC regulatory framework for IT outsourcing.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
- Experience with procurement automation tools (e.g., Ariba, Oracle, Zoho, etc.).
