Job Description

  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with Electronics Ministry, GEM, regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders.
  • Policy Monitoring: Track legislative and regulatory developments at local, state, and Country levels advise leadership on potential impacts.
  • Advocacy & Representation: Represent the organization in meetings, hearings, and official events organized by Government and Industry Bodies advocate for and expedite favourable policies and initiatives.
  • Approvals: Avail and Expedite Government approvals / applicable Licenses.
  • Compliance: Ensure organizational adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and government policies.
  • Communication: Prepare reports, policy briefs, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination: Facilitate visits of government officials and organize stakeholder meetings.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Head - Govt Affairs should have:

  • Hands‑on experience engaging with key government bodies such as MEITY, DoT, DPIIT, BIS, Pollution Control Boards, and Consumer Affairs authorities, including compliance areas like Legal Metrology (MRP, labelling, certifications).
  • Proven track record of direct government outreach, including interactions with Ministers, Ministers of State, PMO, and senior bureaucrats to drive approvals, regulatory clarity, and issue resolution.
  • Strong understanding of central government schemes, especially PLI (Production Linked Incentive) and similar manufacturing or electronics‑focused initiatives, with the ability to track updates and advise business leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience working with industry bodies and associations to collectively advocate for policy outcomes aligned with Make in India and electronics manufacturing goals.
  • Ability to balance advocacy with compliance, ensuring regulatory adherence while proactively influencing policy in favor of organizational and industry objectives.
  • Credibility and influence in the government ecosystem, with strong relationships, negotiation skills, and the confidence to represent the organization at high‑level forums.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Negotiation & Problem-Solving: Skilled in resolving conflicts and finding mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Cross-Cultural Awareness: Understand cultural nuances when dealing with diverse government entities.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate regulatory changes and align organizational strategies accordingly.
  • Organizational Skills: Manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
