HCI Researcher, Autonomous Mobility

You'll play a critical role in designing and evaluating intuitive, safe, and enjoyable user experiences for our next-generation autonomous mobile robots , drones and related services. Responsibilities
- Conduct applied research in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) specifically within the context of autonomous driving and drones. This includes understanding user needs, behaviors, and expectations related to self-driving vehicles, human-autonomy interaction, trust, and acceptance.
- Contribute to the intellectual property of the company through patents and publications,
- Develop and evaluate user interfaces (UIs) and user experiences (UXs) for in-vehicle systems, external communication interfaces (e.g., pedestrian interaction), and off-board tools related to autonomous vehicles, including Drones. This includes infotainment, navigation, driver-vehicle handover, and remote assistance systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, designers, product managers, and safety experts to integrate HCI principles and user insights throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Prototype and test concepts ranging from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity interactive mockups.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's or Ph.D. in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Psychology, Industrial Design, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience conducting HCI research with research publications in journals or conference papers and patent filings . A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in user research methodologies, data analysis, and design recommendation generation.
- Demonstrated understanding of human factors principles and their application to complex systems.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Experience specifically within the automotive or autonomous driving domain.
- Experience with prototyping and Simulation tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure RP, Unity 3D, Unreal Engine).
