Description
We are seeking a skilled HCC Coder to join our team in India. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical coding, particularly in HCC coding, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding of patient diagnoses and procedures to support quality patient care and proper reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures according to the latest guidelines.
- Assign appropriate codes for HCC (Hierarchical Condition Categories) to ensure compliance and proper reimbursement.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and improve coding accuracy.
- Stay updated on coding regulations and guidelines, including CMS and AHIMA standards.
- Participate in coding audits and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior coders as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-4 years of experience in HCC coding or similar medical coding fields.
- Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding and understanding of CPT codes.
- Knowledge of HCC guidelines and risk adjustment methodologies.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CCS, CPC, or COC) is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with clinical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
