Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Hardware Sustaining Engineer to support and enhance existing fire detection hardware systems, including control panels, detectors, and notification devices. The role focuses on ensuring long-term product reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through design optimization and lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware issues in existing products
- Collaborate with global engineering, customer support, and compliance teams
- Drive design improvements and cost optimization initiatives (VAVE)
- Manage product lifecycle activities including obsolescence and redesign
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards
- Support EMI/EMC testing and validation processes
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in hardware design and debugging
- Hands-on experience with project lifecycle management (PLM activities)
- Expertise in handling component obsolescence
- Exposure to cost-saving initiatives / VAVE
- Experience in EMI / EMC testing
- Proficiency with debugging tools such as oscilloscope and logic analyzer
Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Communication, or related Engineering field
- 6–8 years of experience in embedded hardware troubleshooting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience in low-power analog circuit design
- Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC converters
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems
