Job Title: Electrical Hardware Manager - Electrical & Electronics

Role
- This role will oversee the design, development, and management of the Electrical & Electronics engineering vertical, focusing on steering system architecture and core electrical hardware initiatives.
- The position will serve as the electrical counterpart to the mechanical lead, ensuring robust ownership of electrical hardware (eHW), component validation, simulation workflows, and circuit design for next-generation Nexteer technologies.
- The manager will ensure alignment between team objectives and organizational goals, driving innovation and efficiency in electrical engineering processes.
- This role will report to the Director of Product Engineering and lead the team members in the vertical of Electrical & Electronics Core and Architecture in Steering.
- Own end‑to‑end accountability for Electrical & Electronics engineering delivery in Steering, enabling senior leadership to focus on strategic initiatives.
- Serve as the primary electrical and electronics interface for global counterparts, shaping perception of INTC as a credible and reliable owner of steering core work.
- Balance short‑term execution commitments with long‑term capability building, breaking multi‑year goals into annual and half‑yearly objectives.
- Act as a trusted technical and organizational advisor on new electronics initiatives, technology directions, and investment priorities.
- Experience with DFMEA, Six Sigma problem-solving methodologies, and DFM techniques.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification and optimization of electrical hardware (eHW) variants within the Bill of Design systems.
- Manage the holistic design, development, and management of electrical systems, ensuring alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Lead benchmarking efforts focused on electronic and electrical components, maintaining high standards for benchmarking activities.
- Supervise the design, development, and validation of electrical hardware systems, particularly for Electronic Power Steering (EPS) applications.
- Define system-level objectives, align with product line technical roadmaps, and develop high-level system requirements and architecture for EPS and electrical subsystems.

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
18+ years of experience in electrical/electronics engineering roles, with a strong background in power electronics, thermal design, electronic circuit design, and automotive systems.
Proven track record in managing cross-functional engineering teams and driving innovation in product development or leading a team of at least 10-12 directs.
Participated and actively contributed to at least 10-15 electronic product release from concept to production release
Required Skills
- Strong working knowledge of electronic circuit design, schematics, and signal processing.
- Competency in core fields like electronics, electromagnetics, computer hardware/software integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
- Proficiency in virtual engineering and simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink, Xpedition AMS, Hyperlynx SI/DRC.
- Effective communication and technical leadership skills to collaborate across diverse engineering domains.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with ECU construction methods, PCB layout techniques, and tools such as Cadence/OrCAD, Valydate.
- Strong analytical ability to evaluate technology trade-offs and process optimizations.
- Understanding of electrical architecture, heat transfer fundamentals, and thermal modeling for power systems.
- Experience with ASPICE and ISO26262 standards.
Familiarity with dynamic systems modeling and control systems.
