About The Opportunity

Healthcare Women's Health & Maternity Services sector. We operate in a clinical, hospital-based environment delivering comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, from routine antenatal clinics to emergency obstetric interventions and elective gynecologic surgery. This role is ideal for clinicians seeking hands-on practice in a high-volume, patient-centred on-site setting in India.

Primary Standardized Title: Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB-GYN)

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient obstetric and gynecologic careperform history-taking, examinations, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Manage antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care; conduct normal and assisted deliveries and provide active labour management.
  • Perform operative procedures including cesarean sections and common gynecologic surgeries; assist/lead in laparoscopic procedures when required.
  • Interpret fetal monitoring (CTG), obstetric ultrasound findings, and coordinate timely referrals for high-risk pregnancies or neonatal needs.
  • Lead emergency obstetric interventions, stabilize critical patients, and participate in the on-call rota to ensure 24/7 maternal care coverage.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, adhere to clinical protocols and infection control standards, and collaborate with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • MBBS with MD/MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO or equivalent postgraduate qualification recognised in India.
  • Current registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / respective State Medical Council.
  • Proven hands-on experience in antenatal care, labour management, vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
  • Competence in obstetric ultrasound interpretation and fetal monitoring (CTG).
  • Strong emergency obstetric skills and experience managing high-risk pregnancies and obstetric complications.
  • Excellent patient communication, documentation skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams; commitment to clinical governance and safety.

Preferred

  • Experience with minimally invasive gynecologic surgery (laparoscopy/hysteroscopy) and advanced surgical skills.
  • Exposure to fertility treatments (IUI/IVF basics) or reproductive endocrinology.
  • Prior experience in high-volume hospitals, teaching hospitals, or leadership roles in maternity units.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) and quality improvement initiatives.
