About The Opportunity
Healthcare Primary & Secondary Care: A clinical services provider delivering comprehensive maternal and women's health services in semi-urban and rural Gujarat. We operate an on-site, patient-centric clinical practice focused on safe deliveries, gynaecological surgery, family planning, and community outreach.
We are recruiting an experienced Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to join a busy district-level facility in Limkheda, Gujarat. The role is fully on-site and ideal for clinicians who want to lead clinical care, mentor junior staff, and deliver measurable improvements in maternal and neonatal outcomes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Manage outpatient clinics and provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for low- and high-risk pregnancies.
- Perform and lead obstetric and gynaecological surgeries including elective and emergency Caesarean sections, laparoscopy and hysteroscopy as indicated.
- Lead emergency obstetric response (eclampsia, PPH, obstructed labour) and stabilise patients for transfer when needed.
- Interpret obstetric ultrasound and fetal monitoring (CTG) findings to inform clinical decisions and escalation plans.
- Provide family planning services, contraceptive counselling, and run outreach/antenatal education camps in the community.
- Maintain accurate medical records, follow clinical governance protocols, and mentor nursing and junior medical staff on best practices.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS with MS (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) or DGO; valid State Medical Council registration.
- Minimum 3 years of post-qualification clinical experience in obstetrics and gynaecology, including hands-on surgical experience.
- Proven experience in performing LSCS and managing obstetric emergencies.
- Competence in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy or equivalent gynaecological procedures.
- Comfortable delivering maternal and neonatal care in on-site hospital settings in semi-urban/rural contexts.
- Fluency in English and working proficiency in Gujarati or Hindi preferred for community engagement.
Preferred
- Additional certification/training in advanced laparoscopy or colposcopy.
- Training in neonatal resuscitation (NRP) and advanced life support (ACLS) for maternal emergencies.
- Prior experience in public health outreach, family planning camps or community maternal health programs.
