About the job

Guidewire Rating Testing Specialist with strong P&C insurance domain knowledge and hands-on experience validating rating logic, rate tables, and pricing calculations within Guidewire PolicyCenter. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, regulatory compliance, and consistency of premium calculations across products and lines of business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform functional and regression testing of Guidewire Rating Engine configurations within PolicyCenter
  • Validate rate tables, modifiers, tiering, underwriting factors, and pricing algorithms
  • Test rating scenarios across new business, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and rewrites
  • Ensure compliance with state/regional rating rules, bureau rates, and carrier-specific pricing logic
  • Collaborate with business analysts, underwriters, actuaries, and developers to clarify rating requirements
  • Execute end-to-end quote-to-bind testing involving rating, underwriting, and integrations
  • Identify, log, and track rating defects using ALM / JIRA / Azure DevOps

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6+ years of experience in Guidewire testing, with strong focus on Rating / Pricing
  • Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Engine, test data management, bulk testing, issue triage and Guidewire based testing tools e.g. GT: API
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance products (Commercial and Personal Lines) and Canadian P&C Insurance market.
  • Experience testing rate tables, modifiers, rules, coverages, and underwriting factors
  • Knowledge of ISO / NCCI / bureau-based rating concepts
  • Proficiency in test case design, execution, and defect management
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to Guidewire Cloud (GWCP) implementations
  • Guidewire Analyst Suite Certification.
  • Automation experience using GW testing accelerators, UFT, Selenium, or custom frameworks
  • Understanding of actuarial pricing inputs and loss cost calculations
  • Experience supporting multi-state or multi-LOB rating programs
