Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled
Guidewire Rating Developer with strong expertise in
PolicyCenter Rating Engine configuration and development. The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining rating logic and pricing configurations for Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance products within the Guidewire InsuranceSuite.
This role requires strong analytical ability, deep understanding of insurance pricing, and hands-on experience in Guidewire rating architecture.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain Guidewire Rating Engine within PolicyCenter.
- Develop and enhance rating algorithms, pricing rules, and calculation logic.
- Work on product configuration including coverage, modifiers, factors, and rate tables.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and actuarial teams to implement pricing strategies.
- Perform impact analysis for rating changes and ensure accuracy of premium calculations.
- Support integration of rating with underwriting, billing, and policy lifecycle processes.
- Participate in requirement analysis, solution design, development, and testing activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve rating-related issues in production and non-production environments.
- Ensure adherence to Guidewire best practices and performance optimization of rating logic.
- Support upgrades, enhancements, and regulatory rate changes.
Required Skills- Strong hands-on experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter Rating Engine.
- Expertise in:
- Rating configuration and rule setup
- Product Model (coverages, offerings, modifiers)
- Rate tables and calculations
- Gosu programming
- Data model understanding
- Strong understanding of insurance pricing and underwriting concepts.
- Experience in Guidewire PolicyCenter implementation or enhancement projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Insurance Domain Skills
- Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
- Understanding of:
- Insurance pricing / rating methodologies
- Policy lifecycle (New Business, Endorsements, Renewals)
- Personal and/or Commercial Lines
- Exposure to North American insurance markets preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP).
- Knowledge of integration between Rating and external actuarial systems.
- Experience with REST APIs and integration frameworks.
- Exposure to Guidewire upgrades and transformation programs.
- Agile / Scrum delivery experience.
