Responsibilities
Following are the day-to-day work activities:
- Design, develop, and configure Guidewire applications such as PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Develop and maintain integrations with external systems using SOAP/REST APIs.
- Write and debug code using Java, GOSU, and SQL.
- Leverage GitHub Copilot and Generative AI tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.
- Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure solution quality.
- Provide support for QA and production environments.
- Analyze and resolve complex software issues by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements where applicable.
- Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and management throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
The must have requirements are:
- 3–10 years of hands-on implementation experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite.
- Proficiency in Gosu, Java, XML, and XSLT.
- Experience with Guidewire Studio, Rules, Workflows, and Data Model.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or similar AI pair programming tools.
- Exposure to LLMs, prompt engineering, or building internal GenAI tools.
- Understanding of Generative AI concepts and their application in software development.
- Familiarity with SmartCOMM, GhostDraft, or similar document generation platforms.
- Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance, including both commercial and personal lines.
- Experience with Agile tools like Jira and version control systems like SVN.
- Strong conceptual, analytical, and mathematical skills.
Good To Have
Skills
Candidates with these extra skills on their resumes have an added advantage while getting their profile assessed. Some of them are as follows:
- Guidewire certification (e.g., PolicyCenter Configuration Specialist).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps tools (Jenkins, Docker).
- Knowledge of insurance domain and business processes.
