Job Description

The Role

We are seeking a highly analytical GNC Engineer to design, implement, and validate the flight algorithms that govern our autonomous aircraft. You will help the architect of the vehicle's autonomy, responsible for how the aircraft perceives its state, plans its path, and executes precise maneuvers.

You will develop advanced control laws, navigation filters, and guidance logic in MATLAB & Simulink, then deploy them onto flight hardware. You will work closely with the HIL Simulation team to stress-test your algorithms in high-fidelity environments before taking them to the field for real-world flight testing.

What You'll Do

  • Control Law Development: Design and tune multi-loop flight control laws for stability, augmentation, and autonomous guidance.
  • Navigation & State Estimation: Develop and implement state estimation filters (EKF/Complementary filters) to fuse data from IMUs, GPS, magnetometers, and air-data sensors.
  • Guidance Logic: Design path-planning and trajectory-following algorithms for complex mission profiles, including waypoint navigation and obstacle avoidance.
  • Autocode Generation: Utilize Embedded Coder to transition Simulink models into production-ready C/C++ code for deployment on flight controllers.
  • Flight Test Support: Analyze flight logs to bridge the gap between simulation and reality, refining algorithms based on real-world performance data.

What We're Looking For

·      Solid foundation in control theory, system modeling, and state estimation

·      Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink for control system design and performance analysis.

·      Experience with C/C++ and a solid understanding of real-time operating systems.

·      B.Tech/M.Tech in Aerospace, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.

·      Ability to debug complex closed-loop systems and identify root causes of oscillations or instabilities.

Preference to: Prior experience with aerial systems, sensor fusion, or flight-testing autonomous UAVs.
